Saving lives was what I was trained to do
Even though some days I really didn't want to.
Making sure everyone was safe
I just sat at my base.
Even as I got to sit at the stand
I did get a good tan.
Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a whistle
And got very happy when we gave the dismissal.
Saving lives was what we were trained to do
Even thought we basically had to.
Safety first was always on our minds,
It came down to it that it didn't matter what kind.
